Welcome To My Casa Bella

My Casa Bella- means-my beautiful home- but it can mean so many other things. How you make your home a home. The sounds of children or pets playing. The aroma of scones in the oven or a lilac candle burning. The flowers blooming in your garden. The home grown vegetables ready to be picked. Grandma's quilt at the foot of the bed. A fire to curl up to with a good book. Or just a family spending time together with love, laughter and a good time.

Our First Winter Storm!!!

The view you see above is behind our house. I zoomed in to the farm behind us. Isn't it pretty?? All white and snowy. There will probably be many posts this weekend from anyone living on the east coast. It is a huge storm especially for those living in Washington DC and Baltimore MD. They're getting the worst of it.

But we're going to get hit pretty hard here in Sounthcentral PA. Up to 12 inches. We haven't seened snow like this in a long, long time so it is pretty exciting. I will be doing some crafting today, great day for it. We were suppose to have a dinner party tonight, but that's cancelled. Our roads here are pretty bad so safer to stay indoors. I have to sew which means walking outside to my sewing room where it is attached to our garage but I'm afraid to get turned around and end up walking towards the farm, which looks like it's close, but actually its at least a two mile walk, maybe a little less. The wind is blowing so hard, we have snow drifts here at the house that are already 12 inches high. But I may venture out there to my sewing room, we'll see. If you're snowed in today, enjoy it. Let me know where you're at. Don't need addresses, just an idea of where you're seeing this beautiful snow from. Stay warm!!!

  1. Oh My! You do have a bit of snow there, don't you?! We had a pretty coating of white when we woke up this morning here in Ohio, but most of it has already melted.
I hope you were able to make it out to the sewing room. That's my activity of choice when snowed in. Well, that and cooking. :-)

    Stay warm and safe!

  3. We're getting it tomorrow here in southern Nova Scotia...tmorrow of ALL days. Our first snow fall, and Hubby's got his first public talk. Poor guy. Ah well. If the meeting is canceled, he'll give it some time in January. Expectation postponed. ;)

    Stay warm and safe sis!

  4. Hey Arlene ~ Wow 12 inches! What a lot of snow! I love the way everything looks while its snowing. We woke up to 2 inches of very wet snow here in Northern Kentucky. Like Kim a lot melted during the day, but we still had a lot on the ground and it started snowing again this eve - though we aren't expecting much accumulation. It was a lovely snow day. I'll post pictures soon. I took the day to make Apple Butter and Sweet Potato Muffins. =)) ~ Jessica

  5. No snow here. The mountains still are white as ever but here on the high plateau we just have the very, very cold air. It's only 10 degrees this morning.
Have to share: We bought our very first "van" yesterday. We really needed to get a larger service car and so my hubby took me van shopping after service yesterday. We got a 2007 Town & Country so now I can take a big group out instead of just a few in my little Sentra....lol. Can't wait to use it for service but need to wait till I have the insurance card for it.

I hope if it does snow that the van will do ok on the snow....scares me.
