Where in the world has the time gone?
I know everyone is
wondering that same thing today!
This morning I woke
up to this lovely white fluffiness.
2009,
today is the last day. I still recall
the craziness when it was the
end of 1999.
Now its going to be eleven
years later!!
So much has happened this year.
Its been a good and a bad
year, I think many
of us could
agree to that. But we can always
hope for a little better next
year. I know I am.
I have lots of goals next year and
I plan to accomplish them.
But right now
I have lots to do for tomorrow evenings
dinner.
I have to bake a homemade chocolate cake
from scratch, cake and icing.
I'm defrosting some
chicken as well.
I will be making Coq Au Vin
(chicken in red wine with onions, mushrooms and bacon)
Sounds yummy, huh? Never made it before
So I hope it turns out good,
I'll let you know.
I'll have potatoes and a green salad with my
viniagarette.
We're expecting 12 people, maybe a few more.
I'm looking forward to it.
So I'll go around my home today and just touch
up, since I cleaned on Monday.
And I will bake the cake
probably brown
the chicken today, I don't want to smoke out the house
the day of the dinner.
Hope you're all having a good day, wherever you're at.
Sounds like a wonderful dinner...and fantstic dessert! It doesn't get any better than a homemade chocolate cake. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely evening!
Kimberly
I've made lots of white/yellow, red velvet cakes and buttercream frosting from scratch but I can't remember making a chocolate one. Well one time I make a quick one from scratch but I had limited ingredients and it wasn't like a real chocolate cake so I dont count that. Look forward to hearing and seeing how everything turned out! =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will be quite busy with all that company! Have fun!
Dearest Arlene...you will love Coq au Vin. I was going to make boeuf bourgignon tonight, but my husband opted for stuffed basil pesto burgers!!! I did make for Christmas however, a PAVOCHON! Ideas compliments of my incredible Puerto-Rican born father-in-law! Bon appétit chèrie, bonne année and thank you for coming to shake it up a little with Tito Fuentes!!! LOve to all and careful in the snow...Anita
