My Casa Bella

COME IN THE EVENING, OR COME IN THE MORNING;

COME WHEN YOU'RE LOOK'D FOR,

OR COME WITHOUT WARNING.

KISSES AND WELCOME YOU'LL FIND BEFORE YOU,

AND THE OFTENER YOU COME HERE

THE MORE I'LL ADORE YOU!

-Thomas Osbourne Davis

Welcome To My Casa Bella

My Casa Bella- means-my beautiful home- but it can mean so many other things. How you make your home a home. The sounds of children or pets playing. The aroma of scones in the oven or a lilac candle burning. The flowers blooming in your garden. The home grown vegetables ready to be picked. Grandma's quilt at the foot of the bed. A fire to curl up to with a good book. Or just a family spending time together with love, laughter and a good time.

Is it 2011 Already??!!

I don't know where 2010 went
but it's gone,
just like that!
It's behind us now and we're
looking at a new year,
already!
I can't believe how fast
this winter
is moving along and
I feel I have
accomplished
NOTHING!
I haven't had a cold
in two years
but whatever is going around
it GOT ME!!
I was loving Fall, I felt good
then November hit
and it went downhill!
Two months and 12 days
and I'm still feeling
like
a train ran over me.
Now it's my Sciatic Nerve!
I've done no sewing,
no crafting,
no scrap booking,
no projects!
What have I done?
Well, we're finishing up our
Hindi Language Class.
Feb. 5th is the
last day.
It'll be sad but at the same
time
I'll have my Saturdays back.
Four months of
Saturdays
learning a language
that has brought
tears to my eyes,
oh, not because
it's a beautiful
language,
even though
I think it
is,
it's because of
frustrations!
My Language Book
almost felt
the heat
of our
fireplace!
But it's OK,
we're hanging in there.
In the meantime,
I've made some yummy
Gluten Free
Chewy Peanut Butter Bars
They have peanut butter
(obviously)
Coconut, and chocolate chips!
Boy were they good.
So now, I have to lay on a tennis
ball, per my massage
therapist's instructions.
She said "it'll heard like heck
but you got to do it for
at least 3 minutes, then
roll on it"
WOW! Does it hurt!
Hope your winter is going well!

  1. Girl , Hang in there!!! I know how it feels to be run down by a train and 3 bulldozers :-( :-/ :-0 ;-). I remember when pregnant my Sciatic Nerve acted up and it was not fun, awful pain...couldn't walk straight, couldn't move while resting, needed help to get up and to sit down...all that good stuff.
This shall pass, hopefully soon and you will be back to yourself again!
How great you are done with the hindu language classes... horraayyy for you and for not letting your book feel the heat of your fireplace!!!

  2. Thanks for coming by, it was good to hear from you. Congrats on finishing your Hindu class. The Peanut Butter Bars look so good! I hope you get your sciatic straightened out, I know that can be very painful. Take care.

  3. I'm so proud of you taking this class. There are a couple of language classes being considered here. ASL had their first class over 2 years ago and they'll be having a second one soon. But I think the Navajo class may be in the works. They have the first group forming for Sundays in Shiprock and Sanostee which are right out on the reservation. Isn't that wonderful to see how this work is spreading?
    Keep in touch!
    Hugs,
    Marilyn
